Bloomsburg Field Hockey Team Beats Slippery Rock 4-0

BLOOMSBURG —Bloomsburg University's Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored two goals to lead the Huskies' field hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Slippery Rock Wednesday afternoon.

Kropa's first goal came 32:54 into the first half off an assist from Brittney Fox (Reading/Oley Valley). The Huskies scored their second goal as the first half ended when Maribeth Brozena ( Larksville /Wyoming Valley West) hit the back of the cage.

Kropa scored her second goal of the contest at 37:33 to give the home team a 3-0 lead. Liz Macready (Denver /Cocalico) added Bloomsburg's final goal with less than four minutes to play.

Bloomsburg out shot Slippery Rock 33-1 and held the edge in penalty corners, 16-2.

The Huskies are now 6-0, 3-0 in the PSAC, while the Rock falls to 0-3, 0-3 in the PSAC. Bloomsburg has won 17 straight dating back to last year.

Bloomsburg will travel to East Stroudsburg this Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
